FAQ's

What is the Mangosteen fruit and where is it from?

The Mangosteen is tangerine-sized and is deep purple in color on the outside, with a bright white pulp in the inside. Prized because of its excellent flavor, in Asia it is called the "Queen of Fruits”.
The mangosteen is a fruit originating in Southeast Asia. It is considered a member of the plant family Clusiaseae, although it is often in earlier works referred to as a member of the Guttiferae family. The latin name for the mangosteen is Garcinia mangostana L. and the genus Garcinia is an honor bestowed upon Laurent Garcin by Linnaeus for his work as a botanist and naturalist in the 18th century. Outside of the mangosteen’s native range, the fruit is considered exotic. Because of specific stringent tropical cultural requirements, the mangosteen is difficult to grow outside its native regions. The first scientific article on the mangosteen’s medicinal properties was written hundreds of years ago. At the same time, researchers in countries around the world have produced numerous scientific papers on the mangosteens medicinal properties. The focus of most of these papers is on the biologically active ingredients unique to mangosteen, the xanthones.

What are xanthones?

Xanthones are biologically active plant phenols or phytonutrients found in a few select tropical plants. Research on xanthones is ongoing. Xanthones have been found to support and enhance the body’s immune system. Xanthones also exhibit strong antioxidant activity which is beneficial for neutralizing free radicals in the body. Xanthones are some of the most potent antioxidants known, and are thought to be more potent than both Vitamin c and Vitamin E, some refer to xanthones as “Super Antioxidants.” Xanthones are heat stable molecules, unlike proteins, they won’t denature or lose their structure when heated. The mangosteen has by far the most plentiful natural source of xanthones of any plant. Currently there are 43 xanthones known to be in the mangosteen.

What are phytonutrients?

Plant compounds which are believed to have health protecting qualities, but not required for normal functioning of the body.

Is mangosteen considered a functional food?

Yes, functional foods are defined as food components or whole foods that may provide health benefits beyond basic nutrition. In other words, functional ingredients are believed to promote health or in some cases as part of a healthy diet.

Are there any side effects from consuming mangosteen?

There are no adverse side effects and no known contraindications with medications. It is always recommended that you consult your physician, if you have a known medical condition or allergy before using any food supplement. Mangosteen is safe for use by children and adults under almost any condition.

Can I really improve my health through better nutrition?

With a few exceptions, there is no “quick fix” when using dietary supplementation for better health. We hope you will adapt realistic expectations for realizing improved health through nutrition. When using pharmaceuticals, the symptoms are manipulated or suppressed… with natural supplementation the body is able to correct nutritional deficiencies and is given what it needs to rebuild and heal itself. Each body is unique and an individual’s biochemistry is affected by diet, lifestyle, stress, fitness and a host of other internal and external environments. It is inevitable that some people may respond more rapidly than others to improved nutrition. Positive health changes may occur without actually “feeling” anything different. Improved health begins on the molecular and cellular levels and may translate into the alleviation or disappearance of some symptoms and conditions.

What is the recommended suggested use?

Maintenance dosage
For those with excellent health and no active immune compromisation.
The average maintenance dose for an average adult is one ounce of MyLife Mangosteen Essence per day or 1-2 MyLife Garcinia capsules per day.

Intermediate dosage
For those who are rundown, experiencing stress, traveling or an athlete.
Drink two ounces of MyLife Mangosteen Essence twice daily or take 1-2 MyLife Garcinia capsules twice daily.

Health improvement dosage -
Drink 4-6 ounces of MyLife Mangosteen Essence per day throughout the day or 2-4 capsules per day for at least two weeks. When the symptoms improve, reduce your dosage to a maintenance level. If your symptoms return, resume the health improvement dosage.

Advanced dosage
Drink one bottle of MyLife Mangosteen Essence per day throughout the day. You may add up to 3 MyLife Garcinia capsule 3 times per day before meals.
When symptoms improve, reducing the dosage gradually, it is essential to give the body time to heal and continue to improve the underlying condition.

With improved nutrition, is it true that I might feel worse before I feel better?

Yes, you may experience uncomfortable or more intense symptoms, in other words you may feel worse before you feel better. This is your body correcting itself, meaning – your body begins cleaning out toxins and metabolic waste therefore, when understood, is a clear indication that your improved nutrition adaptation is really working resulting in improved health.

What is “BIM” formula?

The biomolecule that boost the body’s immune system by a moderate level that does not produce negative side-effects. The “BIM” scientific formula results from the assembling of wisdom, knowledge, expertise and research experience of a team of world class scientists from the Thai Mangosteen Research and Development Center in Bangkok Thailand.
